South Dakota Testing information

The SD exam is based on the current NEC. The Master/Electrical Contractor's exam is Code only with no administrative law questions.

The website for the SD Electrical Commission is dol.sd.gov/bdcomm/electric/ This is where you go to find information about SD licenses and to apply to take the exam.

Once you have been approved by the State to take the exam, you must schedule it through the Internatial Code Council at icc.safe.org

ICC administers the exam which is the Pearson Vue exam. The exam can be taken at many testing centers across the nation on many dates, depending on the schedule at the testing center.
